Losing hearts

Does anyone else dislike the losing hearts feature? It feels like it’s just making you wait to learn if you mess up too many times :(

It is quite long, and no real idea the reason why (outside that it's a push for Pro). You don't have to see it as an interruption to your learning. You need to be looking for other sources (search the forum and code playground, they mention lots of resources). Take the topic and learn elsewhere in the meantime. You'll be all the wiser for it.

That's exactly the point. If you're not penalised for not pay attention, then you can simply run through each and every course. That devalues learning and the certificates. So take your time, read the lessons properly, look elsewhere online to deepen your understanding and apply yourself. Education isn't a sprint, it's a life long journey. Yeah but, it takes 4 HOURS, for hearts to return, it should me like maybe 4 minutes at max so you can keep learning throughout the day while also still penalizing you and making you pay more attention.

And it kind of hurts the learning experience when you have to wait for that amount of time, i understand the penalizing but its just the fact that its so long :(

It is an ancient concept of negative error culture in a modern world. All this for a push to get you pay the pro version. This is what makes me switch to another app as Dazed is implying. Im not a fan. To be punished for mistakes doesn't feel 2025. Theres also research on that. It feels kinda pseudo pedagogy. Ausgrindtube mentioned a lot of other threads of the same topic which is a clear sign that this is not well received. This strengthens the case that this approach is a bad one for a app which has even "learn" in its name.
