The below C program takes two input a,b but when executed it asks for another null input before printing the sum of a,b. Why?

I am using terminal in Ubuntu, for me is it best to run the file using a nano buffer or directly in python itself?

The input buffer stores '/o ' sign after using gets function but the computer isn't taking the next input in structures

I want user to give inputs and count no. Of zeroes,(+)ves,(-)ves entered..But it is taking just one i/p and displays the result.
